(10-29) 20:12 PST -- A suspected robber who accidentally shot himself in the leg while he and another man held up a Pinole liquor store was found dead minutes later in Oakland, authorities said.

The man, identified by authorities as Sharffe Williams, 26, apparently did not seek medical attention for his injuries following the holdup of Appian Liquors on San Pablo Avenue in Pinole.

The robbery occurred just before 1 a.m. Saturday. During the commission of the robbery, one of the suspects accidentally shot himself in the leg inside the store, then he and his accomplice fled in a dark colored full-sized American car, similar to a Ford Crown Victoria, according to Pinole police.

Pinole police found a trial of blood and a handgun at the store.

About 15 minutes later, Oakland police got a call of a body on the street on the 1600 block of 12th Street in West Oakland. The body was identified as that of Williams, who is believed to have bled to death after shooting himself in a major artery.

The two locations are about 15 miles apart

If he had survived, he probably would have sued someone successfully for it, so...

Good, one less person to take taxpayers money. I like to think of this as a balance in the equation.

The thing is, his accomplice probably just shoved him out of the car when he realized he was dying/dead.
