I have to say this episode is total FAIL. The Tamarians can only communication in metaphors yet they have (at least one) star ship, warp drive technology, transport technology, and more? WTF.
And your point is....?
Its illogical.

How is any sort of technological advancement related to communication process?

You're illogical.

1) This episode is on of the greatest ever. I just happened to randomly watch it two days ago, as well.
2) Are you really going to bitch about that? No kidding it doesn't make sense to only speak in metaphor.. are you going to complain about the universal translator next?

Better yet while we're on the topic, I just finished watching the ep when Geordi and Ro get stuck "out of phase" in a transporter accident with an experimental Romulan engine. So here's the problem, they can pass through solid objects/people without a problem, but yet they have no problem walking around the ship without falling through the floor? In fact, they're actually walking so there must be a frictional force in relation to their feet and the floor (which requires a normal force .. which requires behind pushed on by the ground) so clearly this DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. Same holds true for any show/movie with ghosts that pass through walls/doors without a problem and yet are still somehow bound by the ground. At least that complaint is somewhat based on science and it's still lame!

This is the worst episode for me (by far). Hell, I even bought that the Enterprise gave birth to an alien lifeform.

technically... didnt it just incubate it in the warp core? i mean, giving birth would have been silly :p

The show is about Humans and some other Aliens flying faster than Light through Space! A certain amount of suspension of disbelief is required to enjoy it. This episode and The Inner Light(still brings a tear to my eye) were 2 of the most memorable, not for their believability, but for their powerful Drama.

Shaka, when the walls fell.

I can't believe I went 3/4 of the way down the thread and this wasn't said yet.
