Darksiders - X360 - EASY - Can't beat stygian worm...help

I don't know if I have a bug or what. But when you fight the stygian worm on easy, the first 30 seconds it goes in and out and you can ride the horse and you can swing at it. After the third time is goes underground it then it starts to chase you from them on. For some reason I can't switch to the gun while it is chasing me. It doesn't let me. I am contemplating starting the game all over again to see if it is a weapon switch bug?

EDIT: I don't believe the stygain worm on easy mode has the armor plating on it's head?

thats quite odd.....other then the obvious reasons (not equipped), I'm not sure what to tell you man. I didn't have any issues when fighting it on apocalyptic. If you're thinking about starting over......apocalyptic is not very hard at all if you want to give that a try.

You have to have your gun bound to one of the three ranged weapon slots. Otherwise your character won't automatically equip it when you mount. All you have to do is assign it to a hotswap slot.
You can also hit start and equip it while mounted if you forgot to do so.
It is highly recommended you play on apocalyptic. Saves time since you don't have to go back and play through easy or normal to get those achievements.

thanks for the messages guys. Yes I made sure it's equipped and whatnot. Just doesn't work. So better off playing pn apocalyptic? Hopefully it won't take me as long as easy is taking me - lol

I finished it the first time through on Normal. Some 30 hours, 10 of which were running around trying to find secrets. I wanted to find everything on my own rather than read a walkthrough.
Second time through, I did apocalyptic. I ended up with 8 hours going straight through to the end only picking up items that didn't require revisiting. That was basically 8 hours just to get one trophy.

Thanks for the link. But I believe that is for normal and not easy mode. The worm on easy does not have the shiled over its head. But it does seem to let you hit it for about 30 seconds before it starts attacking you. When it starts attacking I cant even switch to the gun?! Wondering if it's a bug I am having? And problem is that I am have been saving over the same game file (so I can't go back) - lol

When the demon comes out of the cave, shoot him three times with the magic arrows. Then his head will start to spin. Once that happens, you jump up on the boulder, you do a flying downward thrust with the sword of doom, and thats it - level six is done.

and to help with your problem. Jump on your horse and stay ahead of the worm and hold down the trigger to shoot your gun. Do this until he spawns 3 baby worms and kill them the same way, just stay in front of them shooting and boost so you don't get hit. Then repeat same thing you did in phase 1.

FWIW - I had a bug in the game where it would not use the pistol. I got around to restarting the game from the beginning and now I can use the pistol. Problem before is that I was overwriting the same save game and could not go back earlier! I'm at the big spider now (I think called silitha).

that freakin sucks man. But it's a pretty fun game so it could be worse.

STYGIAN and his blasted brood do not like to play fair. Many gamers said that Tiamat was very hard to kill, BAAAAHHH lony I say. I had Tiamat moaning for her life in jig time, but these bloody worms. Hey, like is there an easier way other than galloping for your life and hoping to get enough shots at the bloody worms to kill them?????
