I just started playing this game after getting it last week. I have to say, it's pretty damn fun. You can tell it's a console port at times, but the controls are fluid and setting mouse sensitivity, keys, etc, is no problem. I like the glaive (a large throwing star like thing that acts as a weapon) as it adds an interesting element to the standard 3rd person action element the game is based around.

The best part is the game retails at only $20, so it's worth a look IMO. Plus, there is no DRM whatsoever to worry about. You install the game, click the shortcut, and play!

I played it up until I got the glaive and turned it off. I didn't like it. It wouldn't save the changes I made to the controls, so every time I started the game I would have to change them again. I can't hear half of the audio like enemy voices or gunfire or helicopters. There is no quick way to change weapons other than pushing the number buttons. The story is also garbage, or at least it was as far as I got.

Maybe a few of these problems could be fixed but I don't think the game is worth my time, and my time is pretty worthless.

The PS3 version is fun, worth the $20 I paid for it. You can find it as low as $9 for the console versions.

The PS3 version has rumble and uses the tilt sensor on the controller to steer the glaive. Resolution is the standard 720p but the graphics look good on my 50" DLP.

I had fun with it on the 360. Hard to complain there for $10. I imagine the controls would suffer on a PC however.

I love this game on the PS3. I know a lot of people are cold on it, but I think it's one of a handful of what I consider to be pretty perfect console titles as far as design and execution.

DE finally published this thing after god knows how many fusterclucks?

Looks distinctly average, like Pariah. I guess DE was a one hit wonder with Unreal and can't really do anything well without Epic's input.

I love how over nine years it went from multiplayer to singleplayer, sci-fi to medieval to back to sci-fi to "near future" and switched engines like 4 times. It also went from DE's self-described "revolutionary new title" to a forgettable shooter.

Sucks you ran into problems. I heard there were problems with certain wide screen resolutions as well, but I never ran into those myself. Being that it's a console port none of that surprises me though. Guess I just got lucky..

It's definitely better than Pariah, although I agree.. the development time and plot/engine changes were quite ridiculous. It boils down to a pretty standard 3rd person action game with an innovative "gimmick", the glaive. But that thing is pretty damn fun, especially when you are able to control it in slo-mo later in the game. I also found the difficultly to be decent, as I have died a couple time already, and in most console ports nowadays that doesn't seem to happen.

It was worth $20 IMO. If it was much more I would have probably questioned my purchase a bit afterward.

Is there a reliable "non-sucky" way to get widescreen working in this game yet?
