Dark movies appear dark (to black) on my Sharp Aquos 42"

I bought the 42" Sharp Aquos 720p from circuit city during thanksgiving (black friday). I love it. However, one thing I notice when I'm watching a lot of dark movies. Or movies which take place with little light. It's difficult to see or there isn't enough light produced. Other than that it works great. I have the TV set to Dynamic. I didn't play with any of the other color settings. But Dynamic produces enough light for all movies and shows.

That is one of the issues with LCDs, they have poor black level reproduction. Even though some of them can get plenty dark now, they still tend to lose details.
