because winter is coming and i love snow
i love the crispness of the air and the fact that is not hot or humid
perfection would be never getting over 85 and no humidity, dropping into the 50s at night
I need to get into winter activities/sports, so that I have a reason to look forward to snow.
At best, the only enjoyment I get out of it is snow drifting in large open areas.
I wouldn't hate winter if for a few things:
less snow (once in awhile it's alright), higher temperatures (snow isn't even possible), and more daylight.
I love the better moments of Fall - dry crisp air, clear nights, lows in the 50s, highs in the 60s or 70s.
We had a terrific stretch of days like that here in Ohio, but we're getting into a stretch of 30s at night, 50s/low 60s in the day, and I'm already pissed.
It's getting dark earlier, we still have to "fall back" an hour so that's going to get worse, it's too flipping cold to enjoy running in the morning, and the decision matrix has to be created again. It's not too cold for this or that, but not cold enough for this article of clothing (running clothes - i've still been in only shorts and tshirt, i overheat real easy but it takes a bit to warm up. dead of winter upper 20s is easy to dress for, though I absolutely abhor running in those conditions. Winter air is too damn dry - when it's also cold, that just means the taste of blood in the back of my throat and a scratchy feeling the rest of the day.
