Darien Hatcher out four to six months - torn ACL

For those who have him in hockey pools, you should make other arrangements. Jiri Fischer is expected to move into one of the top two defensive pairings to replace Hatcher.

Was he really worth having in hockey pools? He doesn't score that much. I guess with the Wings he could have helped with +/- and possible PIMs. Hopefully this doesn't hurt Hasek too much, as his D is a little weaker now.

Exactly right. He is very strong on +/- and he helps with PIMS. The problem is that there are not enough offensive defense men in the league to satify all the fantasy teams. After they are gone, you need to pick up good defensive defense men. He is towards the top of the this list.

Tom Poti, ladies and gentleman... he's a sleeper defenseman to pick up. The Rangers as a whole aren't doing too well right now, but Poti had even served well when he played for Edmonton. 😉

This sucks. I am going to the Wings Pens game tomorrow and now won't see Hatcher, and possibly Hull and Hasek. I don't know if Hull is playing and I have a horrible feeling Legace is going to start against the hapless Penguins. 🙁

Sucks. At least my boy Fischer gets to step up... Wait a couple years, he'll be a big name Defeneman... I've even got his "throwback" jersey (#2, now hes #8 thx to Hatcher... lol).

BTW, did anybody else see that hit where he threw Daniel Sedin through the glass? That was sweet as hell...

Fischer is finally starting to look like the guy Detroit thought he'd become when they took him in the first round... he has really looked solid out there. Great hit, you're right. 🙂

Eriksson was always terrible. Fischer is looking legitemately good.
