She was in 3rd going into the final lap but then she got boxed out at the end and finished 8th. Letting them take her from behind like that. LOL

didn't she win pole once before years ago but didn't come anywhere near finishing first?

EDIT>> oh this was started last week.

Blah again, I didn't know how bad the new car would be for restrictor plate racing. Anyone could have stayed up front in this car, ride the whole dam race in line because no one can really pass. This had to be one of the most boring Daytona 500's Ive watched. Now the real racing starts and Danica will be riding around bottom 20 every week!

8th is a good showing, she's young and needs to keep on keeping on.

did you watch the race? she couldnt get into the pits right, she couldnt get out of them without losing positions. she made absolutely zero moves the whole race, everything was done by spotters who clearly made deals with other teams to get some lead time. she had the fastest car on the track all day and had no idea how to drive it.

just wait for the shorter tracks. the vets today were saying it themselves. they hate these plate tracks because its not racing.

Oh man, that was an awkward situation between Erin Andrews and 50 cent at the race. Anybody see that?

Yes, you'd have done much better at the Daytona 500 with 10 prior cup races under your belt...in a completely new car.

She was racing scared. Scared to be one who causes a wreck, and then everyone would point his finger at her and say, "Told ya!"

I got the feeling that most of the drivers were very conservative. They were probably secretly instructed by NASCAR to cool it due to the Busch race accident.

She did a hell of a lot better than I expected. I was expecting her to get shuffled back to the 30s within 10 laps but the racing was also way different than normal. Nobody could pass. I don't remember seeing any passing up front really till the end with Jr and Martin hooked up to get to 2nd and 3rd. Hopefully the new car works a lot better on the normal tracks and Danica can keep doing decent. Smith, Yelley, and McDowell also scored top 10 finishes with teams that have no money now that was impressive.
