Take an average-looking woman, say a "6" in normal surroundings - a bar, the mall, etc. Now put that same woman in a computer lab in a IT firm that is 98% male. Now she's the office knockout.

See how this works? She's a chick in a sausage-fest sport. Of course she's the shiznit in that realm. In everyday life, she's just like the other 95% of the female population - normal.

I'm a Danica fan and while she's not hot in comparison, a lot of her appeal comes from being relatively good at something she should not be doing in the first place.

And as I've always said... in certain elements, like a tv show... the best looking person present in a given environment will be deemed "hot" even if she isn't when compared with everyone we've ever seen.
