If you don't like em, don't buy em. 😛
But, yes, they do compete with PCs...otherwise, we wouldn't have the E-Machines EOne, Gateway Astro, Compaq iPaq, Dell has one like the iPaq too. If they don't compete with PCs, how come their OVERALL market share gone from 4% when Steve Jobs originally took over to 12% in two years (its been 3 years now right? I dunno what they are at now...).
Personally, I like Macs. Though, I also like tweaking, building my own machines, and Windows (j/k about Windows. 😉). So the PC won out. I don't really play FPS...so that isn't a big deal. But games come out very late for them...Rainbow Six for Mac came out after Rogue Spear was out for the PC. Tomb Raider 3 for the mac came out after Tomb Raider 4 for the PC. Oh well...they are getting into gaming a bit now actually.
There is a 32MB DDR Radeon for the Mac. Matrox is getting into the mac scene...again. 3dfx started making vid cards for them last year. Halo has been announced for the Mac, but not PC.
I think some of this mac hate stems from the past...hell, bill gates uses an iMac! 😛 He sent out a press release...and from the header or whatever that has all that weird code...they (I dunno who!) figured out he was using an iMac to send it!
Hell, if I HAD to buy a premade machine and money was not an issue...I would seriously consider a mac (now, not a month ago.). Why? 32MB DDR Radeon+500MHz G4 sounds good to me. Plus...HALO! :Q Heck, I could always get that Windoze emulator thingy...works fairly well, I've used it before.
Don't worry, I'm not a mac head. 😀 I love my tweaking of, building of, helping with, chatting about, inexpensiveness of, and better supported PCs. 😀
Edit: Ok, I got a lil overzealous on the smilies...they are for Prodigy^ cuz I know he likes em so much.
