I was one mile from the Georgia State line and an Alabama State Trooper nailed me last night on the way to our hotel. 276 dollar fine. Ouch!

Gambled and lost I guess.

276 bucks? How fast did he clock you?

He claimed 101. No doubt I was speeding, but I was doing about 94 or so. Thing is, the penalty for over 100 is increased from just going over the limit, so I guess that's why he put 101. I'm gonna pay it online tommorrow.

...94 is still insane man, lucky you were not thrown into a jail.

Speed-demons!

I have owned my car for 7 yrs and it can do 150 mph but the fastest i have ever been in it is about 90 and that was in the first week to test it out. Since then, i don't attempt to go over 80.. lol

Like they say tho, enjoy life, be naughty but don't get caught..

That Ala-bama Statie would have shot me dead. I have all my teeth and Illinois plates. "Yer not from around he-ya, boy!"

I just had the same thing happen to me. I showed up at the Municipal Court Friday morning to request defensive driving....apparently in the state of Texas if you possess a CDL you cannot take defensive driving.
🙁

haha

By theory, what would have happened if he had just continued to go the extra 1 mile, and passed state border?

I mean, 1 mile at speeds of 80 wouldnt take that much at all........

80/60 = 1 mile I think unless my math blows.

You never have watched Deliverance have you? They don't shoot you. At least not with a gun.

It is a wonder they didn't take your license from you. I think around here going at that speed would be automatic license revolktion.

That's revocation.

Another 38 seconds @ 94 mph and you could have made it to the border.. 😉

Joking aside, can the Alabama State Trooper still issue you a ticket if you've crossed the Georgia state line?

If you commit a crime in their durisdiction and they see it, they can chase you to anywhere they want in the US and arrest you/give you a ticket.

So running would've been a very stupid idea.

Why would you EVER plead guilty to a ticket?

get in the "guilty" line here and youre out of the courthouse in under 30 minutes with a $100 fine, the ticket reduced to 4 over the limit and thus no points on the license.

i dont think ive seen anyone here fight one

well, one guy, but he claimed his 14" rims wouldnt let him do 68 in a 55 and even the judge laughed at him.

u must seriously need to go fast a hell to get puled over on the highway. i usually cruise 10-15 over
