That man was born May 20th, 1981 to Debbie and Dave. He joined his brother born a year earlier on January 13th, 1980.

That man had a rich life. His hobbies included fishing and hockey. (Both Ice and Roller.) He was damn good at both. He even carried a fishing rod in his hockey bag. He was loved by his classmates, teammates, and most of all, by his brother. He got a job working for a title company. While he enjoyed working at this job, he aspired to become a Police Officer or a teacher. He regularly went back to his high school to give speeches on how he overcame many obstacles in his life. He was a roll model for the town, kids looked up to him; parent's wanted him to be their son.

In kindergarten he met Nikki. Ever since then, that man and Nikki were inseparable. Nikki became the daughter that Debbie and Dave never had.

On July 12th, 2003 Nikki and that man got married. It was a wondrous occasion that spanned a few towns. More than five hundred people were at the wedding and reception. His brother was his Best Man, and took great honor in it.

That man died on the 1 month anniversary of his wedding, August 12th.

That man was Dan Elderkin. My brother.

Damn 🙁

There's nothing I can think that I can say other than I'm sorry.

I can't imagine how you are feeling, so I won't pretend I can.

Damn....just damn... 🙁

My condolences to you and your family on your tragic loss 🙁

Like Garry I'm at a loss for words. Can't imagine how you're feeling and I hope it's a long time before I have to know. I hope your friends and family are able to help you get through this. Man, I shouldn't read stuff like this at work. I'm tearing up... 🙁

I can't improve on Garry's comments. My thoughts go out to you and yours.

Damn, Dave. So sorry to hear that.

Your brother got married the same day my daughter turned her Sweet Sixteen. That is such a loss for you and your family that I cannot even begin to imagine.

My most heartfelt condolensces to you and your family.

🙁

I will keep you and your family in my prayers! I wish you and your family the best during this horrible time.

Words are never enough, but they're all we have. I join the rest in offering my condolences. 🙁

Evadman, I normally wouldn't or couldn't say "I know what you're going through"....but in this case, I think I can. After losing my brother earlier this year, I know the extreme pain in losing a brother. I can say nothing to ease your pain other than to remember the great times that you spent with him. Don't look back at the bad times as you only put yourself in pain that can't be taken away. It will just take time.....and a few tears are often just a "good memory" away.....My prayers are with you and your family as so many here gave them to me and my family during the same time. I'm very sorry for your loss......take care and God Bless!

Same here. Prayers to you and your family, condolences on your loss. 🙁

Very sorry to hear of your loss.

I can't say that I know exactly how you feel, but I know how it feels to lose someone very close to you. It won't ever stop hurting, but it does get better. I still think about my cousin nearly every day, but it's starting to get better.

My heart goes out to you.

If I can help you in any way, feel free to email me.
