Ha, kinda like when Geraldo "wept over the hallowed ground" where US soldiers were killed in Afghanistan, and it was later proven that he was about 90 miles from the area. But if they say that Rather's film crew got the aftermath on tape, it's hard to argue with that.

Dan was a reporter back in the day. Of course I have not cared for Rather since he and Bush Sr. got into it back in the 80's. I felt that Rather was never respectful enough of Bush afterwards.

Right. Just what I said. The key word is "aftermath". Geez, they could have shown up 3 hours after the bomb went off and even if they did I doubt if Rather would risk his precious life going with them. Unless they have him standing in front of the "aftermath" 3 hours later, or dubbed him into the video.

You don't really believe that the network he works for would let him put himself in danger, do you?

I think he's pretty cool. He has a great voice, and is probably the best Letterman guest ever.

The first show after 9/11 when he was on the show bawling was very moving.

Other times, he's flat out hilarious.

I really don't care if he doesn't like the Bushies. I don't either. 🙂

And I think this story's legit too. It's not a CBS released story, it's AP. Plus, after the explosion, the film crew backtracked to get footage.

What Geraldo did was an out and out lie for the K-Mart news network.

Dan Rather doesn't like most Republicans. That doesn't make him a bad journalist. You're just looking for any reason you can find to back up your irrational thoughts.

The worst of it all is saying too bad they missed. There are lots of people I don't like, but I'm not scum enough to wish they die (with the exception of Yoko Ohno 🙂 ) just because I don't watch their show.

The "one guy" happens to be one of the most highly regarded journalists in the business who didn't have a political axe to grind.
In fact he admits to never voting for a republican in his life.
Read the book, if you've got the guts.





 
Dan Rather is not a journalist, he is a talking tv head who reads a teleprompter. His trip to Israel is meant to geve him false veracity.

He was probably sipping a Shirly Temple and fondling one of his crew at the Sheraton or Hilton in Jersualem when the report came in that a car bomb had been detonated. He and his crew then rushed to the scene, after an appropriate amount of time to be sure that the area was now safe, and taped Rather "at the scene".
