Dan Aykroyd has his own vodka now

Saw in my local paper that he's coming to Madison, WI later this week to promote his new vodka and sign stuff for folks: http://www.madison.com/tct/mad/topstories/444061

They directed readers to the vodka's website (http://www.crystalheadvodka.com/), where there's a video of Aykroyd. I watched parts of it and it's ridiculous -- check out the "How its made" chapter for a good laugh if you don't want to watch it all. As the newspaper article says, the video is like an SNL skit and they are definitely right.

Aykroyd must have had a few too many crystal heads dropped onto his noggin...

The description is the exact same junk from Indy 4. I think there is some "joke" going on with this.

hmmm...maybe I'll go to the signing and pick up a bottle...I'd be buying into the ridiculous hype but the bottle *is* kinda cool regardless...

Hmm...Ghostbusters and Driving Miss Daisy seemed to help him along...

He's had his share of stinkers, but these movies are brilliant:

The Blues Brothers (1980)
Trading Places (1983)

and these movies are pretty good:

Ghostbusters (1984)
The Great Outdoors (1988)
Sneakers (1992)
Tommy Boy (1995)

I thought about including Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), but his part is so small it wasn't worth it.

I guess I'd put Blues Brothers in as his last good movie, it was filmed in the 70s. Ghostbusters is awesome but he doesn't hold a candle to Bill Murray in it. Sneakers was a good film too.

Well, Vodka is always terrible so... However the bottle is hella cool looking, if it wasn't so expensive I would have bought one myself.

badaboom! 😛

I think Sammy Hagar has done well with his Cabo Wabo tequila, so Akyroyd could also with his vodka and the fancy bottle.

i'm very happy with the cabo wabo. at very least, haggar got in it in the early days of modern premium booze, and did for the love of booze. good for him.

aykroyd, otoh, is an unrelenting shill and has as much integrity as that bullshit diamong filtering. newfoundland has no pollution? last time i checked, everyone gets somebody else's pollution. did i mention there are magic spirits involved? stfu dan aykroyd!
