Damnit, my vornado burnt out

I smelt this weird smell earlier today, and I was like WTF is that smell. Only now do I realize that it was my fan. OMG. this sucks. It's friggen hot!

Those Vornados are great. I bought my first one back in 1991 for about $100. Since then we've bought two more for the bedrooms, although I liked the original the best. All 3 are still going strong.

edit - you're right, the name Vornado does sound like it should be a CPU cooler

Uhh, lots of things are noisy at loud volumes. Like my TV for instancce

i have a smaller one, and it's pretty quiet... unless you stick it on HIGH all the time.

we have a large one in our living room that pushes the cool air out from the AC vent very nicely these things rule.
