Ive just been woken up prematurely (as if 6hrs sleep was bad, now ive had it reduced to having got 4.5 ), not by a mis-set alarm, but my computer making a very nice whine-click, whine-click sound......yup you guessed it, another 46.1GB IBM 75GXP bites the dust. Shock Horror

Has served well for 18 months running 24/7 without missing a beat....now its had a coronary.
Yawn...I had better get a wee upgrade, and regardless of that, ill decide when I have the new one in my hand whether to sell it or not...tonight ill try and revive it long enough to copy anthing off it i hadnt buned already...and i guess it takes out the decision over what to do with the 15GB of mp3 ive had on there for a year without touching, lol

I never owned a IBM hard drive in my life. Might be since I all ways see people posting about IBM hdd problems. The oldest hdd I have right now is a 6.4gig WD which is 4 years old now. That little thing is still kicking very strong without any signs of problems.

I use that 6.4gig hdd to store all my mp3's on.

Well,basiclly i went to sleep with it performing quite happily, and i got woke up because it was toast.....time bombs

from knowing that ibm really don't build all ther parts or computers, and the fact of there hd it came to me! IBM NEEDS TO BE PUT OUT OF IT'S LIFE!!! the suck > . <

my wd been running noon stop for last 3 years still runs.. my seagate for the last 4 mths and i bet it runs for more then 2 years prob longer never messed with seagate before... my friends ibm is slower and it all ready acts like it will die sooon..... wow!
