Filed an extension on my 2009 taxes last year, and finally got around to filing them a few months ago. I don't owe any money so there should be no problems.
Just got a notice from the IRS in the mail, they completely ignored my First Time Home Buyers and Schedule M credits ($8400). I followed the filing instructions to the T so I'm 99% certain I didn't screw it up. Because they didn't count those credits they think I owe money, and are trying to charge me $250 in late filing fees. Currently on hold waiting to talk to someone about it ...
On a related note, I'm pretty sure the IRS hold music is designed to make you want to stab someone.
