First, I do way too much research/comparisons on the simplest things (i.e. HDMI cable).

Second, I ran to Best Buy (ugh) this morning for a must-have DVD and CD. Total $43.88.

Now I'm on Amazon and can get the same two items for $31.98 shipped.

Is that $11.90 cents worth driving back to Best Buy, waiting to get my refund and then waiting for the free Amazon shipping (5-9 days)?

How far do you live from Best Buy? How much does your chosen mode of transport cost per mile? Subtracting these costs, how much is your time worth to you?

I decided against going back. Not worth the time, effort, gas. That and I rationalized that Amazon is a giant in itself so patronizing Best Buy infrequently isn't too terrible.

*shrug* When you need something right now, then you need it. I can drive 5 minutes into the downtown area here and pay $75 for a 250GB SATA hard drive...which I did just that about a year ago. It was the weekend, I NEEDED to get my PC running b/c the HD died. I could get ripped off and be up and running in an hour or I could wait a week for UPS to take their sweet time. Easy choice. You did what you had to do. :)

Luckily there's a Fry's near me so they often have prices a lot better on cables and that kind of stuff like $4 HDMI cables.

We have a Frys about 10-15 min away but I'm not in a hurry for the cables.

In other news, the CD I bought was Lady Gaga. It seems her 8 song release "Fame Monster" had some of the words censored. An annoying discovery. I took it back to Best Buy today (fuuu, ended up back there) and got credit back for it and pick up the DVD "Up" since I haven't seen it.
