What sense does it make to create a driver set for a NIC that won't fit on a floppy????

That really sucks. People always say: just email it to yourself. Then you think, how do I retrieve the email without a functioning NIC... Burning it to a CD doesn't always work (on older computers they often can't read burned CD's). I picked up a $2 parallel port zip drive from Goodwill for this purpose.

That begs another question. Isn't Goodwill for poor people? Excuse me for asking, if you are poor. I have friends that did this in college and I thought it was tacky.

Well according to the US government I'm dirt poor (live in low income housing and receive the best education loan available). I could qualify for other programs if I wish (like cheaper phone bills and electricity) but I choose to pay the full price since I think that is taking money away from the truely needy. However I have no problem with buying from Goodwill. You misunderstand Goodwill's purpose. Their goal is to provide jobs for the handicapped or otherwise unemployable people, to teach them skills and let them move on to bigger and better jobs. So a donation to Goodwill is a donation to handicapped people (could be a mental or a physical handicap). Goodwill doesn't care who buys the items - in fact they want as many people as possible so they can hire more handicapped employees. Go into a Goodwill store, all the ones I've seen have a sign posted saying this same thing.

Thanks for the clarification Dullard. I might stop by my local store sometime and check it out :)

Maybe it was Salvation Army store my friends shopped at. Whatever it was, I was under the impression it was meant for low income people to help them out.

Nope, never bothered to check it out. Never had anyone from Goodwill contact me, and never went to their website. Why, Viper, does that make me less of a person somehow?

Yeah, lighten up. I always though Goodwill was a place were you donated things you don't need so that less-fortunate people could benefit from them...

There's only one GoodWill store around here that's not filthy and UberLowQuality and riddled with minorities. I refuse to go into a GoodWill.
