That sucks goose :(
On the bright side my downstream is now upgraded to 8 megabits down and the upstream is around 700 kbs (downstream is typically faster too) and my latency is pretty good. :)

my network is running like crap. due to extreme measures, VoIP is actually flawless right now but everything else is dying

I had the same thing too. Called comcast and of course they thought I didn't know anything. Only when I yelled at them is when they arranged to send a tech down to the apartment to check it out. I gave em my cell number and arranged for a time when I'd be at home. Of course they came down the next day without calling me. He had to go out and fix something to make it work properly as it turns out.

I saw an overview of what you did to your network to get your VoIP to where it is now. I can see the Comcast tech taking one look at it and going "Uhhhh wtf is this?"

Anyways, the last time a tech came out it was zippy, I was getting 6-8Mbps/s and everything.

Lately, pages take 20 seconds to load (at least) , AT is practically unbrowsable, and I get a consistent packet loss of about 25%

hehe my university connection is wonderful, but I hate my comcast when I'm at my parents house...Good god is it finicky sometimes! I totally understand.

For both our sakes I love going to work...

Thats with bandwidth sharing on a 10 hospital intranet and thats just sexy(but considering we're implementing electronic medical records we need the bandwidth) :)
