My friend from Taiwan is dating this guy from Germany. But she's in Beijing working for their culture department. Anyways, I knew her well when she was in NYC and we continued to talk via IM after she got the job in Beijing. She would complain to me about her German boyfriend and how he's so emotional (he's in the Austrian orchestra). She told me she had a friend, also from NYC, in Beijing who she also talks to whenever she's upset. She sees him as an "older brother". The other night she admitted to me she was fucking him but she doesn't want me to see her as a bad person. I was shocked. This just reaffirms my belief that long-distance relationship doesn't work.

Ya, that's weird. I had a 'friend' who said she saw me as a 'little brother', but was extremely flirty and attention whoring with me.

She's insecure and submissive though, and the whole time I knew her I saw random cuts/scrapes, even a bruised/cut lip once. She apparently attempted suicide (OD) twice, so either she had an abusive boyfriend or was self-inflicting; I lean towards the former.
