Fed up with finding my family constantly on my computer, I have decided to take a stand and say NO!. But, with Windows 98's great password authentication, they can just press escape, and voila - they have access to my system.

How can I stop this madness?

Please, help me help myself!

Windows 9x does not have a password authentication system (a real one like WinNT/2K/XP at any rate).

That password is simply used to load basic user profiles.

You will either need a 3rd party program, or use Win2K/WinXP if you wish to restrict access.

if you are running a real server, you can set it to "users must log in"

my school just did that cause they have all 98 clients too hehe

Fortres Grand Corp makes a program called Fortres 101 We've been using this at my workplace to secure Win9x PCs in a public setting(18 library branches) and it's worked out great for several years. :)
