i don't know if they're legally innocent, but if the article is right, and they were pro-u.s. and this was just a mix-up, i think it's sad.

Right...so to protect America from terror, we need to make sure that everyone from Algeria through the Middle East and all the way to the southern islands of the Philippines has at least enough to eat.

this kind of thing is damn near unavoidable as long as we have armed troops doing a job there. seems US is getting bad info from some warlords to get us to do their dirty work for them.

This is a shame - obviously friendly-fire casualties are an inevitable fact of war, but this kind of SNAFU should be avoidable for the most part.
