Damn. That was too quick for $20.

I thought about putting "HL2 EP1"in the Topic Summary...but my Message Title is interesting as is.

I just finished HL2 EP1...in about 2.5 hours total playing time, and I "went exploring" around the levels too, looking for goodies. That's way too fast for $20 considering you can buy the full HL2 for not much more!

Possible responses to this post include:

1. Don't buy any more Valve products, you whiny bastard, if you're feeling ripped off
2. I finished it in 38 minutes...what took you so long?
3. What is this "Half Life" you speak of?
4. Meh.

I love Half Life...one of the greatest time-wasters I've ever encountered. I'll spend another $20 on EP2...but c'mon Valve! At least make it a few acts longer...this went by way too quickly!

I partially agree, not because HL2 wasn't a great game (it was), but because I don't think it does the original justice in terms of the story and the legacy.

With that said, HL2 Ep 1 has been a blast for me, really a lot of fun, but yes it is disappointingly short. Valve has gotten a lot of feedback about this so perhaps Ep 2 will be longer.

HL2 Ep1 @ CC for $7.98 FTW!

edit: if anyone can figure out any more abbreviations for that sentence, please edit and fix it this post

Bought it at a B&M second day it was out. Beat it the next day with about 3 hours playing time (okay, I got stuck a couple places). It was awesome. Can't hardly wait for ep. 2.

EP1 was waaaaaaaaaaaaay too short and was an insult to HL2. They've got HP2 in the works now, it's a better storyline but I'll have to be convinced it's more than an hour of play time before buying.

HL2 rules, probably the 2nd best game I've ever played. I had a blast in Ravenholm all 10 times I went through.

originally hl2 was 50 bucks or so, which is more than double ep1. i don't know what it sells for now, but that is irrelevant. it wasn't quite as long as the sin episode but it wasn't a half hour game either.

all in all, i won't buy another hl2 episode before it's released. or sin episode for that matter. i have been very vocal in my support for episode gaming, but the hl2 episode wasn't worth the 18 bucks i paid for it, especially after playing the sin version.

it does seem like it took more than a couple hours to play through, but i don't turn my games on easy mode either.

Episode 1 Stats (your completion time is ranked at .03% of the percentage that played the game.)

Thankfully you're in the minority. Hopefully you don't do your women, or your hand, like you do your games. :p

i thought it took me longer than 2 hours to finish it, but it did seem a lot shorter than sin eps emergence. might have been because i didn't have to repeat parts of hl2 ep1 over and over like i did with sin tho.

You have to pay a lot more if you want it to last all night.

Oblivion is the top value for money game of 2006, I've put in about 150 hours and am not finished yet, though I'm winding down.

People with OCD can easily spend 300 hours completing every optional bit even before adding mods.

Wow, you guys that got the game for $8 really lucked out. Sure; it's great to play some new HL2 levels...just would be better if the game was a little longer.

Hopefully, EP2 is at least 2-3 levels longer.

Side Note:

Hey BUNKER, nice to see you. :) Where's your buddy, Fausto?
