Damn stupid peice of junk car.

I absolutely HATE working on old Hondas. I'll swear there was ZERO thought given to maintenance by whoever engineered the damn things!

Hmm, I wouldn't be surprised if we were pretty evenly matched there, then 😉 2100lbs, 76hp 😛

It does have a 4 speed auto, though.

heh, yea the 3 speed kills me...I've never seen another 3 speed car in my life.

There's actually a fair few of them I think. Dodge Neon's are 3 speeds I think.

my brother has one. It was built in 1974, though.

ah...probably still beats me...I've never won a race 😛 A focus wagon beat me before...that was pretty embarrasing. I love racing corvettes and whatnot...they must think I'm in a new GT or something and honestly think I have a chance..they are always lookin to make sure they are ahead of me and stuff.

Man, carbs and hondas are like oil and water, they just don't mix. They can make the best EFI systems but carbs are like kryptonite! Strange engineers😛

Better carbs

I share your loathing for solenoid valves and vacuum lines.
The Mikuni on my Ram 50 fossil promptly got rocketed into the trash and replaced with a Holley from a Pinto on a home made adapter plate. Those Holleys are nearly identical to the "Holley-Weber" style carbs above, so if ya feel adventurous go for it. My '81 VW Scirocco is also wearing one on a modded Dodge Omni carb intake (the early units used VW 8 valve engines) that solved my Bosch CIS problems permanently.

there are literally millions of 3 speed automatic cars running around on the road right now.. and more modern than you may think.
the automatic Neons were 3 speed all the way up until 2002 when they finally got the electronic 4 speed.
my last car was a 3 speed auto too (88 LeBaron GTS)

Notfred, that convo would be the best way to go if you intend to keep the car for a while.

I'm going to call them on Monday 🙂

Bet you would spend $400....on a $400 car...

:Q

That's more than the factory Honda replacement costs. I'll at least ask, though.
