Damn roommate! :(

well, this dude is just plain creepy. he never leaves the room unless it's for class, bathroom/shower, or to eat......and he has no friends. all he does is either play CS, download songs, or just sit around and watch tv...i mean, WTF? yeah, and his lack of leaving the rooms = too many damn kittens around here :|

maybe i should plant some pot in his side of the room *cough* hehehe j/k

edit: we're in a dorm, and everybody thinks he's a friggin creep. He'd always act rude whenever anybody says "hi" or something like that

Don't you mean him not leaving his room means there isn't a kity within 5 miles of your location? I probably wouldn't mind a roommate that much. Its kind like having the rest of the apartment to myself. It'll probably be creepy after a while though...

It seems like there's a thread worded in a similar manner appearing here at least once a week. Are there really that many shut-ins in this world? There's a great life out there - why would you want to just hang out like a blob? There's women to meet, places to see, etc. I guess some people probably don't have the confidence to head out into the world - maybe, it's too scary of a place for them.

Speaking from prior experence, he may want nothing more than to be able to go out and talk to people.
That actually doesnt seem to be the case with him since he is being an ass to everyone. He might just be anit-social (not the same as being shy, its where you dont care about others). Some of those poeple that others think are weird quite guys might want to be more out going and just cant. I'm getting a lot better, but I used to be too affraid to really seek social situations. (social anxiety disorder, it sucks)

Man you lucky to be in a school with these helpful ladies .. mine had a boys to girls ratio of 11:1 and it took me 6 months to date one .. they were all booked from freshman orientation.

Well thats what you get for studying in a techie school with nerds and one track mind people. And being non white ( its a joke nothing racist )

Maybe he is just having trouble adapting. You have no obligation to help him, so dont concern yourself over his affairs, he is his own person. At the same time, it wouldnt hurt to provide helpful suggestions. I am sure he does not enjoy staying in his room the whole time, he probably needs a push, and would be fine on his own
