Damn, reskinned NSX, looks good but they got rid of the trademark rear lights.

"Honda NSX Type-R (+facelift)
More information trickles out of Honda Japan with regard to the upcoming facelift of the venerable NSX. To maximise its image potential, especially in light of the deadly 350Z competition, it will be introduced as a Type-R version.
To be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in October, the facelifted NSX will be sold in November of this year at Japanese Honda dealers. Honda is determined to put up a good show with the facelifted NSX before it can finish work with the true new NSX, to be debut in 2004.
The facelifted NSX Type-R will retain the 3179-cc V6 engine (C32B) and still produce an official 280-ps. Expect Brembo brakes, 17 inch front tires, 18 inch rear tires, BBS-designed alloys, Recaro sports seats, simplified interior, and a price tag of 10 million Japanese Yen (approx. US$83,600).
To the left (various colors link) are Best Car magazine's estimates of the different colors available at debut time. I would also expect silver and metallic blue to be part of the export versions' palette, as the Europeans hardly order any white colored models, even if it is a Type-R Honda model."

My thoughts? Looks good, although the body now reminds me of a Silvia from the back for some reason. Back still looks good, but I wish they would keep the old lights, or at least hints of it.

Looks too ricey for my tastes. Huge spoiler, the white rims, and the round lights. Don't even try to tell me that car needs a spoiler that big, because if a Corvette doesn't even need a spoiler, that thing may need one, but not a big one like that.

I kinda like the back of that car. The front is a SupraPorsche, but the rear is pretty neat. It's still grossly underpowered to compete in the supercar market, but if that's the best Acura can do then excelsior to them. At least it looks half decent.

True, that huge spoiler really ruins the lines of the car. I liked the old one that was integrated into the body, almost a decklid spoiler, but with a slit underneath. Aside from that, the white rims are Type-R trademarks. Engine doesn't hold up for that price, but you gotta realize the damn thing is handbuilt with an aluminum body. Acceleration isn't one of it's selling points. Wish there were interior shots of the 'simplified interior.'

The NSX is incredibly light - I'm sure more downforce is welcome when out on the track.

Nice! But I dont like that rear spoiler and those white rims are just horrible, they look like plastic.

Is it just me or do the rims look faked? Look at the rear rim in the first pic - doesn't look like it has any depth. And look at the closest rim in the pic of the rear - again, looks like it has no depth...

Bah - that wing is absurd. I love NSXs, but it is tough to justify buying one of these when the complete redsesign is coming down the pike in less than two years (reportedly with a 400-bhp V-8, no less).

That rear spoiler has GOT to go.

BTW, who are they trying to kid when competing with the 350Z? The 350Z is HALF the price, and is a faster car. Hmmmmmmm.

BTW, some (all) of these pictures look faked, ESPECIALLY the pic of the various colored models.

Ewwww!! :| That's a disgrace to the current NSX. The front looks like a stretched RSX lights, while the rear looks like the rear RSX lights. Second, this car doesnt' have the graceful lines that the current NSX has. I'm sorry..you can't have an $82K car having boy racer looks. The car doesn't even look aggressive!

They are not broken. On all direct Geocities links to pics you get an error. Just drag the little "e" piece of paper on the left hand side of your address bar into the address field and they will load with no problems.
