That's nothin'! Until you've hit 3+MB/sec over the net, you haven't lived. 😉

:| 😀

EDIT: seriosuly, beside DVDs, downloading HDTV would be the only thing that it would be good for...assuming that I was able to get an account on torrentbits, that would kickass!

meh, porn. Instant satisfaction.

I have a good retort for that but I would like to continue to be allowed to post here:evil:

Oh well. Time Warner recently upgraded their download speeds to I think 5mbps or so. I just reset my modem and noticed I was getting faster speeds. 6.4MB/sec....that is ridiculous.

you mean 6.4 mbit/sec not 6.4 mbyte right?

I think he was talking about your connection

6.24MBytes/s is 49.92Mbits/second.

That is faster than a T1 at 1.5Mbps and a t3 at 45Mbps. THe only thing faster that most business might use is an OC3 at 155Mbps or an oc12 at 655Mbps. We are of talking of course concerning backbones for large enterprises.

If IF your co. had an oc3 Mr. Scott, I doubt any admins would let http or ftp use ALL of it😀 45out of 655 ain't a bad combination though😉

Actually that's the reason we buy big pipes. So that all that load gets through quick. So yes, companies throw as much Internet bandwidth as is being demanded.

My philosphy is "throw bandwidth at the load, but make sure some yahoo isn't hogging it all...if he is fire him or warn him."

<-- had one for over a year now 🙂

TV eps come in at 500-600 kB/s for me 🙂

Cable in my area is 9-10mbit down, 800-900kbit up... $50/month vs. $30 for DSL though, I'll stick with 1.5/384.

DAYUMM!! I'd gladly pay $50/mo for those speeds!

I'm on DSL for $50/mo. My DL is only 1.5Mbps BUT my upload is a solid 1Mbps. 😀

It's nice to upload FTP from my home server at about 110KB/s or so. 😎
