The 01/07/2003 $ 1835.00 payment reflected nearly 9 months of unpaid child support, a whopping $185/month.

That's almost the exact cost of a new toshiba 57" HDTV. Coincedence? I think not.

Pliablemoose spends ~$6K in court, proves he spends more time with daughter than ex who has custody (I worked my ass off for this BTW, and had no intention of asking for custody, she's my daughter & I spent as much time as possible with her) & is granted custody (one of the !% of males granted custody of a child under the age of 10 in a disputed custody case)

how were you able to prove you spent more time?

everyone here i believe can empathize with your anger. but perhaps another way to look at it is that from this whole ordeal you have gained a daughter, and an ex stuck not just in another city or state or time zone, but in another country.

so with the loss of money, and a mother for your daughter (but then would you want your ex to be your daughter's mother?), you have your daughter and she has you

What state do you live in? If MN, you can have her killed and eaten by Norwegians if she doesn't pay.

It's not about that, it's about responsibility and parenting. Both take many forms.

Having your daughter as tailgunner on Halo, priceless:D

I don't know, sounds like if she didn't leave the country she'd still have the kid.

She's paying that's the main thing, sounds like you are making her life hell and what not over it. She's getting the money there close to the 1st and it looks like she's semi-consistant on the day you get it too.

You're right, if she hadn't left, she would have kept custody, I probably would have ended up with custody when she turned 10-12 anyway & I think she knew it.

The family courts don't like semi-consistent payments, and neither do I:(

My girlfriend's father has skipped some 10 years of payments. California doesn't seem to care enough to deal with Indiana. Mommy gave up when she hit broke from legal expenses.

When she's all grown up, I intend to take her to visit him, decked out in full white trash regalia (Potentially with a shotgun if he skips the next 4 years as well) - and demand a check be placed in my hand for the total amount due ($33.6k by my calculations - not nearly enough), made out to her name.

Other states are not as willing as CA to enforce child support laws. I know that CA enforces on behalf of other states (and countries).

Pliablemoose is my idol. :beer::)

For every 100 men in the state of Texas that try and get custody of their child:

50 are shot on sight, as soon as they slip the paperwork under the window at Family Court for being so bold as to even THINK they have any rights
20 are ridiculed by neighbors (who all have perfect marriages, BTW) to the point that they must move out of the neighborhood
15 are followed by the local police for weeks because "he must be up to something"
5 are wrongfully jailed for a week because their ex/kid's mother files an "abuse and neglect" compliant with CPS
9 tire of the beatings, cost, mental trauma and 18 week waiting periods when the ex decides to let you see your kid
1 wins.

That One Man is Mr. Pliablemoose. My soul mate, friend and idol. Kick the bitch for me, Lee.

Since I'm in the child support business, I have seen (most) every situation out there.
