That's hardly the case in point. You did read that she spent time in jail because she cared not to make payments earlier right? For a mother to move out of the country and abandon her kids like that means she's obviously screwed up.

At least she's paying something. My brother hasn't seen a dime from his ex since he got custody of the kids in Jan '02. Although she was always quick to demand payment and plead with the court for increased amounts when she had custody. The courts ordered her to pay 1/5th of what they were making him pay and she can't even keep up with that. Damn woman.

1.) Boy meets girl
2.) Boy & girl marry
3.) Relationship is toast from the 3rd month of marriage, child born in 10th month of marriage.
4.) Divorce ensues 2 years later, Pliablemoose attempts to get custody, arguing child is gifted, he's a decent parent, blah blah, blah...
5.) Pliablemoose is (of course screwed over by family court) not given custody, pays child support through the nose for years, never misses a payment (read eats beans for years...)
6.) Pliablemoose finally gives up on any kind of realtionship with ex after she moves in & out IIRC ~5 times, and tells her to look elsewhere for someone to torture as a hobby.
7.) Ex (using a computer built by him for children's educational stuff) gets online & hangs out in UK chatrooms.
8.) Ex uses yearly cash bribe from Pliablemoose (I paid her more than a 2nd deduction was worth in taxes to her so she'd allow me to use child as tax deduction) to go to the UK & meet guys she met in UK chatroom.
9.) Ex decides to move to UK & shack up with one candidate she met.
10.) Friends of ex from work clue me in that she's leaving the country with our child
11.) Pliablemoose spends ~$6K in court, proves he spends more time with daughter than ex who has custody (I worked my ass off for this BTW, and had no intention of asking for custody, she's my daughter & I spent as much time as possible with her) & is granted custody (one of the !% of males granted custody of a child under the age of 10 in a disputed custody case)
12.) Ex leaves the US, and returns X2 in an attempt to kidnap child.
13.) Courts give her a freaking year of no child support
14.) When child support is finally assessed, ex ignores the order & is stupid enough to fly to the US & claim she can't afford to pay child support Judge rolls her eyes & puts her in jail.
15.) Courts finally award me permenant custody (this year, nearly 6 years after being granted temporary custody)
16.) Ex hasn't been back in the states for ~2.5 years, and is terminally behind in child support because it's so difficult to enforce if non-custodial parent lives outside the US.
