I just went to pre-order HL2. After I entered in all of my information and the dialog box was showing 'Purchasing' which for some reason took about 5 minutes, my computer froze when it reached the end. Stupid Dr. Watson Postmortem Debugger, the ultimate piece of crap tool that comes with SP2, hung and Steam just froze.
How long do charges usually take to post? I don't want to have to wait a week to check online and find out that Steam charged me $60 without giving me jack squat. Pissed off at Microsoft.....

Check your games list now. If you see that CS:S is available, then your purchase went through. It updates automatically so if you don't see it, then try purchasing again.

This is what I would do first.

Next try calling your bank/credit card company to see if there is a pending charge/authorization for that amount?

Ok, well I got the email from Valve stating that they charged me but it didn't activate any of my games to play. This is the one goddamn reason I didn't want to have to buy it online....
