I'm 6'3 and weigh 270 lbs and since my mild acne is clearing up pretty well my confidence level boosted. Since I'm tall you won't notice my fat alot. What I'm trying to say that I want to lose weight. I've never been on a diet before so I have no idea where to start.

I'm 6'5" 260 and not really "fat." I've got some extra around the midsection, but nothing serious. Then again I have a pretty large frame & a fair amount of muscle...I'm assuming you don't if you think you're fat.

Work your way up to 40 minutes of cardio, 4 days a week with an average heart rate over 150 and you'll shed those lbs in no time.

*points and laughs* HAHAHAHHAHA

Seriously though, I am 5/11 and 240ish.

Try to go to the gym. YOur in for a lot of anguish though. Until you get a regimen going and lose some of that, you are going to feel like SH!T after every workout for a bit. HTat any if you stress yourself too hard, you might hurt yourself or worse due to the stress.

Start now. You can thank me later.

I wear size 40's (I like them loose...more comfy especially considering the size of my legs) or 38s and XL or XXL shirts and like I said above, I'm not what people would call fat. But if you think you'd feel better by losing weight, go for it. Just don't hate yourself because of the size of clothes you wear...some people are just built bigger than others.

Don't feel too badly about the XXL shirts. Because of my work/lifestyle/exercise I have large arms and chest. Regular XL fits but it is clingy and uncomfortable. So I too wear XXL. Perhaps an XL will fit better by summer when I have trimmed down some more but until then XXL it is.

I'm not feeling bad or anything. I also need to lose the weight because I have high Cholestoral.

Wearing XXL shirt doesn't mean you're fat. The size 40 pants mean you're fat.

Diets are temporary solutions. You need to change the way you eat, forever.

Lots of different advice has been given. I'm not trying to indicate that any of it is wrong. However, I do think you should first check with your doctor. Maybe, 20 minutes x 3 times a week for exercising is ideal for you - maybe, it's not. Your doctor should be able to tell you some more as to what you can handle based on your current state of health. From there, you can work on your diet and the rest.
