i live in the guest house of my parents home, with my own entrance and everything. i have a 13 year old little asshat of a brother who keeps on taking my stuff while i am not home or while i am asleep in the mornings.

i have a t-shirt that says " I (picture of a marijuana leaf) OREGON" on it in my closet. the little dipstick decides that would be a cool shirt to wear at school on friday. he gets away with wearing it all day until his second to last class, the teacher finds out and sends him to the principal.

he gets sent home, might get suspended for a day, detention for a while early in the mornings, and last but not least, has to write a three page essay atleast on why drugs are bad.

now, the question is, is it my fault for having the t-shirt or not?

Make sure you laugh at him. Having that T-shirt shouldn't put you at blame, but aside from the fact that your brother got it trouble for it, it makes you look like a dipsh!t for owning it.

What if he wrote a three-page essay on why he felt pot should be legalized (with valid reasons like medicine and taxation) and it's his right to feel so? I bet that'd throw them for a loop. Though, it sure was dumb to wear the shirt.

He's thirteen, I doubt he was thinking at all.

He should sue you.

Heh:
There are times when you get suckered in
By drugs and alcohol and sex with women m'kay?
But it's when you do these things too much
That you become and addict and must get back in touch

Do you really think that's appropriate clothing for school?

Anyway, brother is a grade-A moron. What did he think was going to happen? Plus your shirt is dumb, but it's not your fault at all that lil' bro is getting what he deserves. BTW, how does your brother get in to your little guest house apartment? Isn't there a lock or something?

Ever see a cheerleader outfit?

YES :)

but other than that, it's not your fault for having the shirt, you didn't encourage him to wear it (directly at least or at least you didn't say you did). Whatever, he chose how to act, and he chose poorly, Sucks to his assmar.

It was not appropriate for you to wear the shirt around your brother, and it was inappropriate for him to wear the shirt.

How's that?

Not in a classroom. I understand that there is a grey area when it comes to what kids wear to school, especially if there is no formal dress code, but surely you can understand why the school has to do something about it. If you ask me suspending the kid seems a little strong, considering what kids can do in some schools and not be penalized at all. But describing that as the act of a "school dictatorship" is really irresponsible.
