This is a frustration post not a help post.

so i got a new MB, MSI K8T Neo 2 mb, an AMD64 3500+ 90 nm, 2 512 mb of Kingston Ram, 2 120 gb PATA HD (ok i cheaped out) and i pulled some other stuff from older systems i had. put it all in a Lian Li case.

put everything together start it up and BLANK, NO POST.

FVCK. God this stuff pisses me off.

so after spending 2 hrs putting it all together i have nothing. :(

i'll trouble shoot it later, but for now, god i'm frustrated.

this stuff used to never happened to me. i would never get no post, but lately it seems to be happeneing quite a bit. wonder why.

Edit

ok, after reading some of the posts in GH, particularly the post of Zebo, i have come to the conclusion that this MB doesn't support Winchester without a bios flash (a little tough to do without a flasher or a pc that posts :( )

oh well, back to the drawing board, will have to return the mb and try for another one.

ok, if someone DOES want to help, should i NOT use DVI when i'm first starting up a system?

i've got a couple of negative factors here, a DVI Monitor and a USB Keyboard/ Mouse.

should i just hook up only ps/2 mouse keyboard and Analog monitor?

Those are just as much physical problems too so they don't count. :)

DVI isn't a problem, since all dual-connector boards detect which one has a monitor plugged in and init appropriately. USB wouldn't stop it from posting, but it could stop you from accessing BIOS. This is gonna sound uberstupid, but make sure you have the fscking powerbutton on the right header and there's a PC speaker attached (Even if the board has an onboard beeper)

Power supply?

The specs in OP did not include one... I suggest this may be the problem.

:D

:D

You got enough power if you do have a psu plugged in :p
