Damn..godaddy has some really nice hosting plans:(

Dixiesys has been absolutely fabulous but Goday is tempting....

2GB/100GB for 9.95 or 7.95 if you prepay:Q

with mysql and everything:Q

Currently I get .4GB/10GB for that price...

I...must...resist....

NO WAY! This I need to check it out myself.

Low price plans are for personal site only. I wonder what control panel are they using?

If you're not running out of space or bandwidth on your current plan, you won't really gain anything by switching.

For a single domain, that's quite competively priced.

Unfortunately, they do not offer smaller reseller/virtual server plans than $34.95 per month ($27.96 per month if prepaid).

HostPC has their 2/1 sale until the end of March still.

I just got in for 3200MB storage, 40GB/mo bandwidth for $8.99/mo.

Not only that, as far as support goes, I got help on EASTER Sunday, by the owner (Joe).

They use DirectAdmin for control panel (although they are supposed to be adding another one soon also). Might want to check them out, I think they have a 30 day money back guarantee as well. Telnap and SonataWeb are supposed to be pretty good also, Telnap is run by an ATOTer (Devioustrap, I think?).

Check out...webhostingtalk.com?? I think that's the one. Or Gottadeal forums, they have a forum for webhosting.

Good luck 🙂

this may be a stupid question but i haven't done the website stuff in a while. what are the control panels used for? just overall control of the site or does it fully replace ftp access?

it can do both, but ftping is still the easiest way to go. The panels are just for admin work you have to do. script managment, domains, e-mail, ect

thank you! apeciate it. about to get back into this so i was confused since the last time i dealt with any of this the only control panels were for accounts that didn't offer ftp access. I went to telnap.com site and looked a their cpanel and it seems pretty cool. I would of course use an ftp client to upload and manage but to also have a cpanel would help if on someone else's comp that doesn't have an ftp client
thanks again!

I would save so much money per year on hosting if I got off ColdFusion code. Alas, I am too lazy to pick up PHP.
