Republican scandal on the front page --> "OMG it's the culture of corruption, they HAVE to go!"

Democrat scandal on the front page --> "Let it go already, we all know both parties are corrupt."
I guess if the Democrats based their whole persona on family values like the Republicans did they'd be more open for criticism as a whole.

So they instead base it on corrupt the Republicans are and how Democrats are the better option... not helping your case here.
What case, if the fuckers are corrupt and it's proven they should get the boot. We don't need corrupt motherfuckers running our country, look how fucked we are because of it over the last 8 years.

Sorry Fern, but:

""I'd like to take this opportunity to accept full responsibility for the mistakes that I've made," the Democrat said Wednesday. "I apologize to my colleagues, my family," Black added before apologizing to the citizens of the state."

D@mn! you're right.

My post is total fail.

Fern

You're not fail. It's the 6th paragraph down, it's indirect, and it's the ONLY place where they even give you that hint.

It's Maryland -- one of the bluest states in the Union. I think it's implied that she's a Democrat because she's in a position of power!

As for the comment about "not jumping to conclusions", they have tons of evidence in this case. Dixon is done. Hopefully, she has the intelligence and grace to bow out rather than fighting the obvious tooth and nail like Blagojevich and that idiot mayor in Detroit.

As for the implication that corruption follows one party or another, it happens whenever someone is in a powerful position. Power corrupts? City machines are notorious for corruption -- just look at Baltimore, Atlanta, and Chicago for examples (Atlanta has an ex-mayor in federal prison right now).

as RightisWrong said - it's a local article - sorry that it doesn't mention the word Democrat until the 6th paragraph - and the Reuters and AP articles have the word Democrat in the first sentence of the first paragraph, so please put your pathetic "liberal MSM" chants in the garbage where they belong.

Why narrow it down to the last 8 years?

Jurors in the theft trial of Sheila Dixon convicted the Baltimore mayor Tuesday on a single charge of taking gift cards intended for the city's poor.

Although Dixon was acquitted of a felony theft charge, her conviction could force her from office.

Jurors deliberated more than six days after hearing the Democrat was accused of using or keeping $630 worth of gift cards. She allegedly solicited most of the cards from a wealthy developer and then bought electronics at Best Buy, clothes at Old Navy and other items at Target.

The jury convicted her on one count of fraudulent misappropriation by a fiduciary and acquitted her on two counts of felony theft and one count of misconduct in office. Jurors failed to reach a verdict on another count of fraudulent misappropriation by a fiduciary.

How the heck did they let her slide on the felony theft charges? That would have been much better, she'd be going to jail, where she belongs.
