The Child Protective Services are sometimes the biggest morons.
O.k. my girlfirend's best friend's sister (wow thats a mouthful) is one person who should not have children. She had 3 children before she was 18. She is "Catholic" and doesn't believe in birth control, and isn't smart enough to stop. She has almost neglected them all their life, to go smoke pot. They have almost entirely been raised by their grandmother, and their aunt (my girlfriend's friend). She started smoking crack, but stopped when she got pregnant with a fourth (supposedly stopped, but unlikely), which she just had a miscarriage on. Her mother has been trying to take custody of the children for a long time, but has been unable to. This last time, they found out she was selling the food stamps, for drugs of course, and so they called CPS. CPS told them that FLour in the Kitchen constitues food. Bullshit, those children deserve far better than the enviroment which they are in, yet CPS is unwilling to remove custody. Any intelligent person could look around and figure out that the place is not good for the children, and they could give the custody to the mother. But no, they like crack addict mothers, they must be healthy for the new PC country, right???? This is almost as bad as the kid that CPS lost and didn't know about for however long.
I agree that they have to be sure that they don;t tae kids away just arbitrarily, but this is ridiculus.
