so today was my day off and I spent the day eating, sleeping, and playing BF2...


urghh..it jsut sucks that I have a computer that was beyond my wildest dreams a few months ago and can't even play a new game at 1600x1200 with aceptable framerates...

my system:

a64 3000+
1GB ram
x800xl @ some overclocked speed that I do not remember


I even get lag at 1024x768🙁

Stupid memory hog🙁

I realize that I can play hlf2 @ 1600x1200 on high and get silking rates, but still, this is annoying...

I really have to learn and stop buying upgrades...


alas...I (we) will never learn🙁

That said, at least I can comfort myself in knowingthat I can play HD files:beer:

Really? I'm playing on a R9800PRO 128, 2.8C @3.5GHZ, 1GB of ram and my system doesn't seem to stutter at all. What details are you playing at? Put it on medium details, I've tried higher details and couldn't really tell the difference between medium and high. I'm sure you'll get much better frame rates that way. I average about 40FPS and I'm playing at 1280X960 medium details, 2XAA and maybe 4X AA though 4X reduces frame rates to about 35 and can dip as low as 25. (my card is running at XT speeds).
 
BF2 is very fvcking buggy. Took me all day to get it to run for more than 15 minutes. Audio cutting out, keys unbinding themselves, corrupted textures, crashes to desktop, BSODs, resizing my desktop to the same resolution the game was running and not fixing it upon exit. A whole lotta BS, I was ready to sell the damn thing.

I think many people agree on that.

Used to be #1 in amount of people playing it when it was first out but now Half life and Half life 2 have got back their spots.
