I work in a call center.
My shift ends at 6:00 PM.
The call queue closes at 6:00 PM.
If I'm on a call at 6:00, I have to finish it.
If there are calls in the queue at 6:00, we have to clear the queue before we can leave.

I was one minute away from being able to sign off when my phone rang.

Good news is I'm off the call & outta here.

That doesn't really help, though... If the call's there in the queue, we can't leave until it's gone. So SOMEONE has to take it. Everyone else was doing exactly that... checking their stats, sitting in idle, etc. to avoid the same thing. I was the only one in available actually doing my job.

Oh well, it's over.
