Somebodies alarm is going off and they arent checking up on it. Which often makes one wonder why we have alarms at all. I cant figure out which car it is because it keeps stopping when I go to check on it. I dont even know who's door to knock on.
The thing went off for the full duration the first time, then 10 minutes later it went off for a much shorter duration, then it went off twice more at 5 minute intervals with a single horn blast.

What could be causing that?

This is bad, its 3AM and I'n not lonely, I'm ticked off! Tired, got classes in a few hours.

It's going of for at least 10 min on occasion and you can't figure out which car it is...

I assume that means you're not going out to look. Which means to me that you're not really all that bothered by it.

Same thing happened to me once, only I did go out to see what car it was. I found a green Acura, and a 20-something girl balling her eyes out because it was 1am and she couldn't shut her car's alarm off. I asked her to pop the hood, and she did. I then pulled the fuses for the horn and lights, told her to put them back in when she was going to drive it, and walked back inside. I got applause from some people in my apartment building who watched the whole situation unfold.

Might help be a bit more proactive, rather than complaining about it on the internet. You might stop someone's car from being broken into or stolen, or you might help out someone who's having a much worse night than you. Either way you might end up with a pretty good story.
