Neil Diamond is coming to Portland the middle of September. My mom's a HUGE ND fan and I was planning on getting tickets for her for mother's day even though the tickets don't go on sale until Monday.

What do I find when I come home? My mom's come out of her cave and ventured onto the big scary internet all by herself. She signed up on ticketmaster and has the ticket ordering page bookmarked for the tickets and is already calling friends organizing who she's going to go with.

Great.

The one good idea I had for a mother's day gift and she surprises me with actually doing something for her own damn self for once. :frown:

Meh... atleast I save myself $80. :p

Does she celebrate children's day? Let her have her little night out & hope it doesn't matter to her. I'm not wasting more money just to tell my mom I love her. She already knows that.

Nope, no real weekend plans Karen. My buddy Mark is home from the Navy for a couple weeks so I plan to do plenty of partying to make up for the years he's missed. Stupid Uncle Sam. ;) :p

Coquito, I know what you mean. I'm not the type that appreciates holidays like mother's day, valentine's day, etc. They're just marketing holidays to momentarily increase income for corporate america and give shallow people something to do. However, it's still nice to do things for people you love every now and then.
