Crap.....I saw a critter flash across the floor....thought it was like a 2" spider...ultra fast! Turned out to be a mouse. Damn they're fast! So now I'm asking my cat what she's doing to earn her keep :| I almost caught it behind a box of Cat 5e cable...but it got away and disappeared.

Oh well, I'd rather have a mouse than a 2" spider! Tomorrow I go on the search-and-flush mission ;)

Ugh...I'd much rather have a spider than a mouse. Rodent's carry so many diseases it's not right.

we had some mice in the house before, set a few traps and got rid of them in a few days.

We had/have a problem with mice too...we've caught 2 or 3, and none of the traps have been set off again in a while, so good luck! Simple mouse/rat-traps actually work! With peanut butter, nonetheless!

Nope, they're pretty cheap at your local store. About $4 for two mouse glue traps.

Screw traps. Get a cat.

I got 2 cats for free - both 1 year old, female, tattooed and all shots. One is very lovable, the other is a hunter. The hunter crushed two mice to death in the first week we got her. No more mice now.

Those bastards used to climb up the dining table to chew through my breads! DISGUSTING!

The best solution for a mouse:

Common spring trap with peanut butter on the switch for bait.

Works like a charm.

BTW, I live in IL near some corn fields in a newer subdivision. So I have plenty of experience with mice problems.

You can get your animals tattooed so that they can be identified if they lose their collars. I suppose with that chip that can get implanted, there is not as much of a need for the tattoos.

The spring traps never worked for me... the mice would lick the peanut butter without setting off the trap. They would avoid the peanut butter in the curled metal piece so as not to set off the trap.... smart mice.

Bold too, while I was laying down one crawled up the curtians next to my bed and looked me in the eye. I got up to smash it and the bastard ran away. He did it again, but this time my wife smacked him with a broom. That got him.

I finally killed them all by surrounding bait with glue traps. They would get stuck in the glue to get to the bait. Then I'd just bag 'em and toss 'em in the trash.

The funniest part was when we first discovered we had mice. When my wife and I both saw the first mouse:

Me: Ah Sh1t, we've got mice. Better go buy some traps.

Wife: <jumps on chair> <stamps feet> Oh My God! A Mouse! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Me: <rolls eyes> You'd jump at your own shadow, woman.

:)
