Dammit! I have a dilemma! What should I buy?!

Alright, so I've been working on getting around $600 in extra, easily spendable cash so that I could buy a Sony Clie, NR70V. I know it wouldn't cost 600, but we'll jsut say that for sake of argument.

However...

I'm a big fan of airsoft guns, as some of you may know. I own an insane amount of gas blow backs, yet no electric rifles.

Western Arms, basically THE premo airsoft manufacturer, just released an absolutely BEAUTIFUL Para-Ordinance .45 model...something I've always wanted. The review seems extremely positive, and full metal slides are also availible for $100 per slide.

I've been thinking heavily about getting two .45 model guns, getting metal slides and a New York quick draw-style holster, and having a Nicholas Cage-esqe. get-up from Face/Off after painting both guns shiny gold (don't worry, it's possible and fairly easy+durable). This would cost me $165(gun)x2 + $105(slide)x2+shipping = About $570. Almost the same price for the NR...

But yet ANOTHER thing is thrown into the fray. Classic Army, a manufacturer of full metal, full-auto electric airsoft rifles, just released a new model of their own! The Full Metal M4A1 Carbine. I've been waiting for this one for about 2 years now. This sucker would cost me: $235(gun), + about $60(extra mags) + about $75(battery and charger) + about $40 in shipping = $410.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sony Clie:

Pros: It's a nice palm, has a Mp3 player, skinnable graffiti area, digital camera, built in keyboard, etc...all which blows away my current Palm, the Sony S300, even though I have basically every top-end accessory availible. Very nice screen, etc. I've been drooling over this for months on end.

Cons: Handhelds loose an insane amount of their value quickly, and if I drop this sucker, I'm SOL. It's fairly fragile, to add to that. In addition, I've been looking at cell phones, and if Sony comes out with what is basically the Nr70 with a built in cell phone(they have the add on, but it's bulky and expensive), it will be almsot the same price as the current one...and that is what I really want anyway. However, I've been tearing my hair out beause I want both the digi-cam, mp3 player, keyboard and the like...but I am paranoid. :Q

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dual Western Arms airsoft .45s

Pros: KICKASS guns, best manufacturer that I could hope for, great performance, something I've been hoping would happen. End product = :Q:Q:Q:Q:Q:Q:Q:Q:Q:Q:Q
So cool they make me want to crap my pants.

Cons: Most likely the most expensive and time consuming choice of these 3, and yet ANOTHER expensive gas gun with EXPENSIVE upkeep(gas for usage of this gun = $40 and up for two bottles. :frown;) as well as the fact that you HAVE to use only the best quality, and new (no reusing BBs) BBS for this gun. I still cannot use this as a primary in an airsoft fight.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Classic Army M4A1 Carbine- Full Metal

Pros: Looks like a great gun, full metal and heavy, durable, great design, LOTS of upgrades availible, and would be a primary gun so skirmishing is more suitable. Also, I don't have to buy gas like the above guns, and can just use a rechargable battery.

Cons: This is a new gun and I don't know how it will hold up, and won't know for several months until some people have had ample chances to play with it extensively, review it, and give me a choice of opinions. Classic Army is known for releasing one good gun with some problems, then waiting a while and redoing the gun to make it much better in a 2.0 model...however, this gun was delayed a LONG time because Classic Army said they were trying to make it one of their best, and matching their V2.0 Mp5 series in quality. If I spend 400 bucks and up on a gun, and they come out with a better one next year...me = pissed. :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, what do you all think? I might add more things to the list for choosing from...

Why not just come up with $600 more? Well...I might, but cash isn't exactly easy to come by. I will, more than likely, own more than one of these choices eventually, I'm trying to decide what to buy win the next couple of months.

oh... :(

well, how many guns do ya already have? Would it really be worth it to get any of the guns over the palm? Does your old palm suck so bad ya need to replace it? Some stuff to think about...

Pretty simple choice, isn't it?

Look organized or look mean.

If it were me, I'd go for the Clie.

If you had to go for the guns, personally I'd go for the P-90. Red dot sight... that's so cool in a toy.

Yes, the M4 is absolutely kickass...

I have...lessee...

KWC Desert Eagle
KJ USP
Marui Berreta M9
Marui Berreta M9 w/KJ metal slide
KJ Glock 27
KWC Colt Python
KSC M11A1
Couple of springers

Not bad, but no primary gun and all are expensive as hell for upkeep. I've spent several hundred dollars on gas alone already.

My Palm is...fair. It's got 8MB built in, Sony mem. stick slot, grayscale, pretty small...I've got the Pentopia, a leather flip-belt case, a couple of crandles, blah blah blah....

The P90 is lame, especially compared to the M4. :p

As for a red dot sight...yank. How about a full auto tracer unit that looks like a silencer on the gun and looks like a laser beam when you shoot it at night? :Q

Real guns are great, and we've got...well...lets just say this household is NOT at a lack for guns.

However, it's kind of hard to shoot your buddy in the ass with a real gun and laugh like hell, 'cause there are restrictions, you know? ;)

An airsoft gun is an exact replica of the real steel, shoots 6mm plastic BBs...the M4 would spit them out at around 800RPM, and the gas guns blow the slide back with each shot, and you can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger.

The first set of Classic Armys had some problems. The bodys were bowed at the top and some had gear problems. They were fine guns, but certainly weren't TM. Things may have changed, I haven't seen any reviews on it yet, nor long term reports (it's fairly new). Just a heads up. It may be a fine gun, but just wanted you to be aware CAs first try at these wasn't so hot. Personally I'm saving up for an M16A2 with a CA medal body, carrot grip, 20" match kit, 6.03 inner, bipod, systema pro gear box (I have an m150 from a couple of years ago), and 3~9x50 scope. r0x0r!

Bleh, be like me and have friends who are japan-freaks. :) They're having their friends in Japan buy us a bunch of Tokyo Marui guns and shipping it over for us. EBB pistols are like 15 bucks, and the full metal rifles are like 150. We plan on all getting guns and going crazy in the park next to our apartments next year. :) Hopefully the SWAT team doesn't show up.

God Bless America. I was gonna get a new stainless Sig P226 for my first gun, but moving to Manhattan in the fall kinda defeats the point.

Oh, I could easily shoot my friends in the ass and laugh like hell.....with a paintball gun:D:D
Not to start a flame war or anything, but have you ever played paintball? I mean you could get a nice setup for 300, and still have cash to blow on your airsoft guns. But hey, whatever works for you.......I would go with the Sony Clie......little organizer things are cool especially if they have lots of features:D

35mm huh, thats got to have quite a kick what with it shooting a bullet that's over a inch across.
Maybe it's just that I don't know a lot about guns.

LordMaul,

For $600 you can get the Clie plus a 3 year warranty from a place like Good Guys or Best Buy. They cover klutziness. ;)
You could also get a memory stick as well I'm guessing.

I've had my Clie for over 2 months and I STILL use it every day, which says a lot because I usually ditch PDAs after 2 weeks. It's fricking amazing and will CHANGE YOUR LIFE, plus you'll get use out of it every day, like i said.
Can you say that for a stupid toy like an airgun? No.

The first option, I vote for. I hate all kinds of guns, especially air guns. When I was a boy I once saw one dumb as a rock guy with an air gun shoot and take out an eye of another boy (accidentally, but does it really matter?). It sucked so much to see that I started to hate all those dangerous toys.
