As a former smoker, I would like to say yes there is a stench, but it is their right to smell like it. You treat them like criminals enough as it is. Hell, old Bloomberg in his omniescent vision banned smoking from all public establishments. what I want to see is a restaurant that opens up and has a picture of a whiner on it, with a big red circle around them, with a giant cigarette making the "No" sign open up. I mean WTF, you already condemn them to a 10 foot square area outside of most buildings if they are lucky else they have to stand out in the freezing weather and/or rain because you are a friggin whiny baby.

It is your right to roll around in garbage and smell bad if you want. It does not interfer with health nor ability to do my job. If you threw the garbage on my floor and started rolling around in it, I would have something to say, but hellfire, will we soon start going againt people for eating garlic, or wearing cheap perfume?

I never said nor implied it isn't your right to smell like cigarette smoke. I only said that when people do smell like smoke it's extremely annoying. Just like it's annoying when someone doesn't shower for 2 weeks and you have to sit right next to them. Nobody can force that person to take a shower, but that doesn't make their smell any sweeter.

I'm very serious. The level of exposure between first hand smoking and ETS is significantly different.

Tell me, how long would you last of you wrapped your lips around the exhaust pipe of a diesel truck? Now, how long do you think you'd last if you worked at a truck yard or airport? The fact that a substance is toxic or carcinogenic is not enough. There is a level of exposure that must be obtained before one suffers ill effects.

The EPA report has been proven scientifically unsound. They picked a few studies that suggested harm from a larger group of studies that overwhelmingly could find no harm. The fact remains that the vast majority of studies on ETS can find no illnesses caused by exposure.

The EPA report was rigged. Fixed to reach a predetermined outcome. It was so obvious, that it has been thrown out of federal court.

Well I can understand that. But how many people do you meet every day that eat mainly garlic? How many smokers do you meet every day?

I would take garlic or curry over the smell of being trapped with a smoker in an elevator.
