Damaged wiper blade left windshield scratched.

Are there any do-it-yourself kits that will fix a scratched auto windshield? Basically, i didn't realize that my wiper was damaged, so after a while, it left a "cloudy outline" on the windshield that spans almost the entire surface (like a rainbow, about 1/4" thick). I looked at it closely, and the "rainbow sratch" doesn't appear to be deep. Any way to fix this with like a glass filler of some sort?

Thanks.

Rub toothpaste into the crack. Not the type the baking soda, that will scratch it more. It works for CDs and DVDs
And for patching holes in walls in apts so you can get some of the SD when you move out.

Maybe brass or silver polish? Those work for cd's and dvd's too... But I would try it in a test spot before I did the whole windshield with it, just in case it made it worse.
