LOL; Jr. comes to Hendrick to team with his fans nemesis' Jeff/Jimmie.

Can't say I'm happy to see him here, but maybe we can all make peace? Don't know for sure though as I said before the Red Army is pretty hostile. Been to 3 races this year and saw Jeff win one and Jimmie win one, and the fans were quite displeased to say the least. And the other race I saw Harvick stole from Mark Martin (Daytona), but when Jimmie got wrecked on the backstretch in front of me the crowd was most exuberant and happy if I must say. I think it was the loudest cheers of the day.

Kyle Busch will get released from his contract at the end of the season. While he has great potential I think he needs to grow up a bit and ease up; way too many wrecks this year that he could of avoided.

Paraphrasing here, but I remember Dale Sr. once told Gordon the following.

"Whether booing or cheering, as long as the fans are making noise, you're doing something right" ;)

Hendricks fans are going to be severely disappointed next year when either Hamlin or Stewart wins the Championship. Hell they are going to be disappointed this year when a JGR driver wins it.

Meh, doesn't really matter to me. You can't win them all. I will take 10 of 14 though ;)

As a Gordon/Johnson fan, the ONLY reason I hate Jr. fans is because of crap like throwing bottles onto the track, and when I was at California one race, Jr crashed with 40 laps to go, and 20% of the stands got up and left. What the F? There's 40 cars on the track still! Sit your ass down and enjoy the race! Jr's a good driver, just overrated. He's always had top quality equipment at DEI. But right now, Hendrick's sitting pretty. But how Jr fans will react to him being teammates with Gordon is going to be comedy :D

Yeah, what a big surprising move. Hopefully I'll here more about that then.

He really isn't that overrated. I believe only Johnson and Gordon have more wins in the same amount of time Jr has been at the cup level. Just three years ago he had 6 wins in one season. It has been the last two years where the team has struggled.

Waltrip won a few races too back when DEI was dominating the speedways so I'm not all that impressed ;).

Jr has won more than superspeedway races. He is actually really good on shor tracks. It is the intermediate where he struggles.

I'm kinda surprise jr went to hendrick team, I thought he would have gone to RCR. Kyle Bush is leaving hendrick at the end of this season. One rumor I heard, Kyle might be going to DEI.

It's very possible given the format of the Championship. For the last 10 races the top 12 all start up again even in points except for those who are in it that had won races and even they will only get an extra 10 points per races. As it stands right now Gordon would only have 40 more points than either Stewart or Hamlin going into the Championship run and if you remember from last year out of those last 10 races Stewart won 3 and would have won the Championship if they had included the top 12 like they are this year instead of the top 10 like they did last year.

I'm hoping Martin can make the chase running part time and win the championship thereby showing how stupid Nascar's point system is, that or Burton wins. I'll be happy either way ;).

Hpw would that demonstrate how stupid the pionts sytem is? All it would demonstrate is how good of a driver Martin is.

I hate the whole chase thing. Having somebody win while skipping races isn't exactly what Nascar wants to see. Makes other driver think more about skipping races they don't like themselves. Then we have fans skipping races because their driver isn't there.

Well the odds are Martin isn't going to make the chase. Right now he is 12 in points and he's going to sit out another 4 races unless he changes his mind. Even if he does participate in the rest of the races he'd still have his work cut out for him. All it takes is a couple of DNF to sink his chances and with reckless drivers like Kyle Bush and Juan Pablo Montoya driving , to name two of the worse, getting caught up in a wreck, even when he's running well, is more than likely.

I think Tony is about a has-been. He doesn't drive like he used to, tending to be much more passive than he was. JGR needs to build their future around Hamlin. Good kid and a good driver who stands the best chance for JGR to pick up a championship. But not this year; this is gonna be Jeff's year.

Yeah right tell that to Kurt Bush and the other drivers. If Stewarts has a fault it's that he is too agressive. If it weren't for a couple of bad breaks Stewart would have at least two wins under his belt this season so far. Even with the bad breaks he's still in 5th place for the Championship, pretty good for somebody you claim is washed up.

All it takes is one or 2 DNF's during the last 10 races and Gordon's dream of another Championship is out the window. Remember he'll be on the same track with Montoya who drives like a teenager with a six pack of Old English in him (He wrecked his own teammate to win the Bucsh Road Course in Mexico City) and Kyle Bush who drives like Satan himself is on his tail trying to collect on a debt (Fscker wrecked his own brother in the All Star race).

Hamlin is a great driver, no doubt being on the same team as Stewart has helped him enormously. I'd say both Stewart and Hamlin are as good as Gordon and Johnson and both are better than Little E.
