My state is in the news again a second time for a data breach:

Should us consumers expect more of these data breaches until retailers and their supply chains get better and protected?
And from the local newspaper The Star & Tribune:
Also can we get free blizzards as compensation?

This time, Dairy Queen has found themselves the unlucky victim of a data breach with ice cream on their feet. It seems that they have joined the parade of retailers who have had their digital supply chain compromised, namely their point of sale systems by malicious software.
Should us consumers expect more of these data breaches until retailers and their supply chains get better and protected?
And from the local newspaper The Star & Tribune:
On Friday, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said that more than 1,000 U.S. retailers could be stricken with Backoff, malware short for malicious software discovered last October. Both United Parcel Service UPS +0.09% and Supervalu SVU +0.31% appear to have also been hit by the bug, which burrows into retail point-of-sale systems.
Also can we get free blizzards as compensation?
