daily show and colbert suck

Hey, that's a provocative thread title deliberately, so you'll look and accept the invitation to DISCUSS. So far all the replies have been badmouthing OP, with no discussion at all!

Personally, I thoroughly enjoy both those programs. Political satire always interests me - whether it's tongue-in-cheek as these programs often are, or between-the-eyes, or anything in between. These two programs are perceived as having clear left-of-center biases. But don't forget, the core of humorous political criticism is to criticize whomever is in power now, and that happens to have been the Bush Republicans for the last while. Seems to me there was lots of criticism of Bill Clinton before that. And well deserved (and entertaining, and thought-provoking) on all sides!

When you guys eat pancakes, do you cut then up into bits before putting syrup on them, or do you cut them as you eat, already splattered in syrup? I ask this because my brother and I went to IHOP the other day and he proceeded to cut his pancakes in to bite-sized bits before add syrup and consuming and he insisted that it wasn't weird and lots of people do it this way. I just don't find it as effective, especially considering that once the pancakes have been made slightly soggy by syrup you don't even need a knife to cut them, and the side of a fork works just fine.

Lots of butter & syrup, then cut each piece with my fork as needed. Your brother's system invloves all kinds of unnecessary arm work.
