I'm an Australian, born in Sydney...raised in the beautiful capital, Canberra! I love it there and would LOVE to go back and I miss hearing Aussie accents plus other things there.

My hubby is American and I moved here due to marriage, been living in Oregon since Nov 2001.

No.

Born in Indiana, raised in Michigan, schooled in Massachusetts, lived in Texas, currently in California.

How/why did you end up in CA? That is some place i would like to end up, but i don't think i could afford it...how did you do it?

Los Angeles, unlike New York City, has affordable areas ($300-500/month) if you hunt for them.

After graduating from college, I went home to Texas for a month. I decided to go to Cali because I had no responsibility to anyone but myself, and I'd never been on the West coast before... it was kinda an impulse thing. I bought a one-way plane ticket, packed up 2 suitcases and my savings ($500) and flew out (knew nobody in person, had no job, had no place to live). I was actually homeless for 3 days, but was taken care of by some people I met online (one of who is now one of my best friends in Cali). I subletted a place for the summer, found a job, and... well, here I am. :) The weather is beautiful... the mountains are only 1-2 hours away (amazing snow, incredible slopes) and the beach is 10 minutes from my apt.

You only live once, you know?

Grew up in Maryland outside of DC. Politics suck. Having politics control 95% of the TV sucks. So I moved. Currently near NYC, where money controls 95% of the TV.

Thinking about going to Seattle where things are a bit more laid back.

Midland, MI.

Pluses: safe, minimal traffic, very good public schools.

Minuses: winter weather blows, boring, not close to much of anything.

I don't really miss it.

Change Midland to Flint and it is basically the same thing.
