Daily After-Shower Sprays

You know, the Tilex "no wiping necessary" stuff you're supposed to spray after you shower to help prevent mold/mildew buildup. Probably a dumb question, but I've never known how much of the stuff is an appropriate amount to spray. Totally covering every part of the shower walls? A light mist at the top and let it trickle down?

Oh, domestic life...
 
Just clean your shower when it is noticeably dirty, like a normal human being.

Why would you go through the hassle and cost of spraying down a shower Every Single Day?

It isn't a hassle and the stuff generally does work very well. If you have harder water, I'd recommend it.

OP, a bottle like that should last a couple of months or so, assuming one shower per day.
 
I use a paper towel to wipe down the tiles and tub after a shower. Use Lysol disinfectant cleaner when the tub and tiles are due for cleaning. Certainly not everyday, never mind every shower.
 
I wipe it down with baking soda & a loofah or dobie maybe once a month, then just hose it off with the shower head. Baking soda is like magic in showers! Gets the chrome handles shiny & gets rid of that orangish buildup on the shower walls.

Never tried baking soda for that, but when I replace the baking soda in the fridge to absorb odors, I put the old stuff down the kitchen, bathroom sink or tub. Does a great job of keeping the drains flowing. Pretty much stopped using Draino. Nothing cheaper than something you'd throw out anyway.

Yeah, I've tried Comet, Windex, TileX, sponges, etc. Just a simple mix of baking soda & either a puffy loofah body scrubber sponge and/or a yellow Dobie. No funky chemical smells either. If I ever get rich, I want to buy a Ladybug hi-temp steam cleaner. Downside is it's over two grand for the nice Tekno version:

1700-watts, 12.5-amp motor, 13 pounds (portable), 2.9-quart reservoir, 260F tip temp, up to 80 PSI . Cleans everything from BBQ grates to wallpaper to rugs to appliances to bathroom fixtures. Basically no chemicals, just water, cleans everything super awesome. Just wildly expensive! That's why I like working with baking soda...no chemical smells to make your head spin & stink up your bathroom. You can DIY for for stuff like glass & mirrors...current experimental mix is one I found online: mix up 1/4c rubbing alcohol, 1/4c white vinegar, 2tsp corn starch, and 2 cups of water (the cornstarch makes the glass & mirrors streak-free). Throw it in a glass spray bottle:

You can use essential oils if you want to add some smell to it. I tried peppermint recently, definitely made the bathroom smell better. Works a lot better than candles!

Also that's pretty interesting, never thought of using it in the drains...do you run it down with hot water? Found this trick via google:

Watered down bleach. I spray every other day. Cheap as a gallon of bleach is cheap and have an old spray bottle. 3 part water to 1 part bleach. Keeps the mold and mildew away.

Honestly, I don't know if it makes difference if it is hot or cold. I pour in maybe a 1/2 cup in the drain, run a little water and let it sit, while I do something else. Then I run the water slowly for about 1 or 2 minutes.

Btw, I'm not recommending it for clogged drains. Just a maintenance thing to keep the drain flowing well.

I was mostly agreeing with the 'like every other human being' part. Doesn't sound like it's a hassle, but how great can this stuff be? A good deep clean once a month or so satisfies me more than a little daily misting ever could. I can safely say out of everyone I know, I don't know anyone who mists their shower with this stuff.

isn't that a fairly high concentration?

bottle of target brand daily shower stuff is about $1. even if you way overuse it, it's pennies a day. i spray fairly liberally on the curtain.
